lyrics

When they find me I'll be buried in the snow
holding the New York Times and a quart of milk
I really should have taken out the car
but I thought that I could use a little walk

back home I would've maybe hailed a cab
or caught the #4 at 23rd
or slipped into the Old Town for a drink
eavesdropped on the hipsters for an hour or two
on a nice warm stool

the sky just goes on and on
tonight the world is white on white
these open streets they all look the same
somewhere I guess I took a little turn

don't get me wrong I like the sage
mountains in the distance are a graceful frame
for what is left of our time
here on this wide open stage

but two worlds is where I'm living
two thousand miles in between
two worlds is where I'm living
one is outside and one is inside me

sleepy, so sleepy
they say that's how it begins
sleepy so sleepy
lost in the infinite arms of peace
